A new member of the team
A Students’ Lawyer is growing, and I couldn’t be happier about who’s joining. Benjamin Jones has come aboard to help out with intake and client follow-up — and he’s exactly the right person for the job.
Ben knows the world my clients live in because he’s lived it. He earned a Master of Medical Science in Kinesiology from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and has gone through the ringer himself, so he understands firsthand what a demanding academic program asks of a person — the workload, the pressure, and how much rides on every exam and every decision a school makes. He’s also a husband and father who balanced all of that with a family at home. And the people who have studied alongside him describe him the same way, over and over: hardworking, empathetic, and the first to show up when a classmate needs help.
That’s exactly who I want answering when a student or family reaches out at the worst moment of their academic life. Ben will be co-handling intake and follow-up — responding to new inquiries, following up with people, helping schedule sessions, and making sure that no one who contacts this firm sits around for days wondering if anyone got their message.
Ben is not an attorney and won’t be giving legal advice. All legal work and legal advice still come directly from me, Zachary Gaynor, Esq. Ben’s role is simple: to get you connected with me faster.
You may get a call from Ben — save this number
If you’ve contacted the firm recently — by phone, email, text, or through the website — you may receive a call, text, or email from Ben following up on your inquiry, and Zachary Gaynor will also use it on occasion.
Ben will be reaching out from 561-300-0648.
Please save that number in your phone as A Students’ Lawyer – Ben so you recognize the call when it comes. Too many important calls go unanswered because they look like spam — and when there’s a deadline on your appeal or hearing, a missed call can cost you days you don’t have.
So, one small ask: add 561-300-0648 to your contacts right now. It takes ten seconds, and it means we can reach you the moment there’s something you need to know.
Welcome aboard, Ben.

A campus decision can follow a student for years.
A boutique practice can be flexible in a way a larger firm often cannot. Depending
on the matter, that can take any of these forms.
From the very beginning
The earlier I'm involved, the more options stay open. I can step in at the first notice, charge, or letter — before a deadline closes or a statement is given — and help shape the matter from the outset.
Behind the scenes
Where a process limits an advisor's speaking role, I work in a consulting capacity — reading the policies, preparing you and your statement, and drafting submissions and appeals — without ever appearing.
Complex, high-stakes matters
Cases that cut across academic, disciplinary, civil-rights, and financial lines — the ones that don't fit a single box — are squarely the work this practice is built for.
Second opinions
If you already have counsel, or simply want another read before you act, I provide focused second opinions at a reasonable, agreed cost.
Ongoing counsel
For students, families, and advisors who want a lawyer on call as a situation develops, I'm available on an ongoing monthly basis.
Worked out to fit
The scope and the fee are discussed up front and structured to fit the matter. The goal is a practical arrangement that gets the situation handled.
The scope of any engagement and the fee are set out in a written agreement. Contacting the firm does not create an attorney–client relationship.
